Advanced Power Yoga

This class is a combination of Yoga and Pilates which focuses on strengthening the core while eliciting the meditational and flexibility benefits of Yoga.
Aerobic Room Circuit
Wednesday 2 p.m.
Instructor: Jason Ewals, Fitness Coordinator
This class uses it all! Set up in the Aerobic Studio will be a number of stations that will hit all the different muscle groups in the body. This class will use different mediums of exercise as well, from using the stability ball to doing Kettlebell Swings. If you are interested in a fun way to do weight training, then this is the class for you.
Aqua Fitness
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 10 a.m.
Instructors: Jason Ewals, Fitness Coordinator & Angel Vandeveer
Join us for this popular class and enjoy the significant benefits of regular exercise. This Aqua Fitness class maximizes cardiovascular movements to improve fitness; including “deep water exercises”, and exercises to improve muscular strength and flexibility. During this class we’ll use weights and noodles to provide a refreshing workout, at various intensity levels.
Balance the Brain

Are you looking for a safe way to stretch, strengthen and rejuvenate all at the same time? Join Evangeline for this yoga based class which includes movements, exercises and stretches designed to focus the mind, balance the body and improve your sense of well-being.
Beginning Zumba
Fridays 9 a.m.
Instructor: Evangeline Gomez, Fitness Director
Intersted in Zumba but not sure if you have the steps right? Then this is the class for you. Beginning Zumba is a 30 minute class that slows Zumba down so that you can learn the steps to the 4 different styles (Merengue, Zumba, Cumbia & reggatone). Once you have the steps down, this class preps you for a regular Zumba class and even Zumba Toning.
Challenge Step
Thursdays 8 a.m.
Instructor: Ginny Hart
This class will consist of step movements with choreography; knowledge of step terminology is required.
This class is not for beginners.
Interval Training
Wednesdays 8 a.m.
Instructor: Angel Vandeveer
This class is a great fat burner. Interval training gets your heart rate up with a fun combination of cardio, weights and bands.
Latin Dance Party
Tuesdays 12 p.m.
Instructor: Susie Wiskus
Come and join Susie for an exhilarating hour of Latin dance. This class will get you moving and your heart pumping creating a fun environment to burn some calories through dance all while enjoying the music.
Mat Pilates
Mondays & Wednesdays 10 a.m.
Mat Express
Tuesdays & Thursdays 8 a.m.

This class consists of a series of Pilates based controlled movements which are designed to engage the body and mind with a primary focus on awareness of the spine, core strength and the coordination of breath and movement to help strengthen muscles. The outcome of Pilates is a balanced, strong, flexible body with an emphasis on abdominal, back, legs and overall body-mind conditioning.
Reformer Pilates
Instructor: Evangeline Gomez, Fitness Director; Angel Vandeveer
$6 per class – advanced registration required
The Pilates Reformer is utilized to offer many benefits, such as increased levels of strength, balance, flexibility, muscle tone, stamina and well-being. A combination of springs set at different tensions, and a student’s own body weight, create resistance during exercises. The resistance that the reformer provides adds a weight bearing component to the workout, beyond what traditional (mat) Pilates exercises offer.
Rock N’ Roll Cardio
Tuesdays 4 p.m.
Instructor: Ginny Hart
This is a mild to moderate level class with no jumping. It is dancing to the "oldies" with simple, repetitive dance steps; arm movements will be incorporated to get a more complete workout. It will be 45 minutes, so instead of a formal warm up and cool down, this class will progress from slower music to more demanding and then back to slower. Singing while dancing is encouraged.
Stretch
Mondays & Tuesdays 7 a.m., Tuesdays & Thursdays 2 p.m., Wednesday 7 a.m., Friday 9 a.m.

Join us for a relaxing stretch class. This class will help loosen up tight muscles which will in turn reduce the amount of soreness that one may incur after working out.
Total Body Strengthening
Monday & Fridays 8 a.m., Thursday 7 a.m.

Join Jason for this challenging strength training class that will lead you through a variety of exercises with weights to strengthen and tone the entire body. Standing, sitting and floor work will provide you with a safe and fun class that combines muscles groups and leaves your entire body conditioned.
Total Body on Ball
Tuesday 8 a.m.
Instructor: Jason Ewals, Fitness Coordinator
This is a fun class for advanced fitness levels where the focus is on improving and increasing balance by strengthening the major muscle groups. While in class you’ll utilize the stability ball to strengthen and tone your muscles with tubing and weights, which in turn improve your coordination, posture and balance. Note: One must be very comfortable on the ball in order to take this class.
Track Circuit
Wednesdays & Fridays 5 p.m.
Instructor: Daniel Rodriguez, Fitness Assistant
This class utilizes the indoor track at the Santa Rosa. If you like walking around the track, you will love this class. This class will give walking around the track a whole new meaning. Instead of just walking, you will be doing a variety of different calisthenics and exercises around the track to increase your heart rate and improve the strength of your core and lower body all while burning more calories than just walking alone.
Weight Room Circuit
Wednesdays & Fridays 10 a.m.
Instructor: Daniel Rodriguez. Fitness assistant
Join Daniel for this fun and energetic class that will not only get you familiar with the strength equipment but will improve your overall muscular strength at the same time. This class utilizes the strength equipment at the Santa Rosa as well as core work using the stability ball and medicine balls. This is all done in a 30 minute circuit class where you will be moving from machine to machine and exercise to exercise increasing your heart rate as well.
Zumba
Monday & Wednesday 9 a.m.
Instructor: Angel Vandeveer
Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.
Zumba Tone
Tuesday & Thursday 10 a.m.
Instructor: Evangeline Gomez, Fitness Director
When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs, glutes and thighs. Zumba Toning is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies naturally while having a total blast.
Classes in the Aerobic Studio are limited to 25 participants. Please arrive early to ensure your spot.
Late entry (five minutes after class starts) is not allowed for safety purposes. All Classes cost $3 unless otherwise noted. They can be paid by a check made out to “SCSHCA.” You can also purchase a 10 class card for $30, or an Unlimited Monthly Pass which is good just for the month in which you buy it in for $40.
