Law enforcement is oftentimes a thankless job in our country. Every mistake made is broadcasted by the media nightly, while the thousands of appropriate interactions go virtually unnoticed.
It should be shouted from the rooftops that the innovative and progressive work that is being performed by our Indio Police Department has been recognized in this month’s Police Chief Magazine.
The publication, which is produced by the International Association of Chiefs of Police mentioned the work of the Indio Police Department in two different articles: Examples from the Advancing 21st Century Policing Initiative and Collaborative Policing: The New Paradigm for Effective Policing.
“In addition to being honored by this recognition, this type of coverage will assist us in continuing to recruit the type of officers Indio residents deserve”, wrote Chief Mike Washburn of the Indio Police Department.
Our hats are off to you, sir, and to the many men and women in your department!
