What a great night last night for our community in the Montecito Ballroom!
We’d like to thank Jeff Kirkpatrick, Chris Stevens, Bill Wethe, Rod Wenger, Tom Hutson, Ed Chavez, Jim Wieborg, Dave Bakshy, Gary Paff and Georgeana Mimms for volunteering their time to speak with homeowners about their committee roles in advising our Board, introducing the other homeowner volunteers who serve our community on these valuable committees and answering resident questions. I think we can all agree, we all came away with a far greater understanding of how our community operates and with a greater confidence in the expertise of those who are advising our Board on the issues facing our community. They all did a tremendous job and we are so grateful to all of them for their participation in not only this event, but in using their expertise to advise our Board on all issues. All of the members of these committees serve our community in the background for countless hours each month at thankless jobs — we believe they deserve our thanks and we think the more you know about what they do for all of us, you will too!
We’d also like to thank all the homeowners who took the time to come out to our community forum (even on a Saturday night WITH the Cubs playing) to learn more about how our community actually operates. Our hope is that with a greater understanding, our community will become increasingly united, increasingly neighborly. We could not have been happier with the turn out. Information is power! Information leads to unity.
We’d like to thank our volunteers — Jim Kintner, who so perfect was our master of ceremonies. Our greeters at the door, Barb & Andy Perler and Frank & Lea Kenny. Our wine servers, Jack & Gwen Heller. Our microphone rovers, Ken Foster & Fera Mostow.
We would really like to give a happy shout out to our community’s new Troon Food & Beverage team; Chef Jeff, Mario, Al and Rolland for the terrific Or d’oeuvres they served last night! Chicken Satay, Crab Cakes, Cheesecake, Stuffed Mushrooms and Cheese & Fruit Platters. The food was excellent, the service impeccable and clearly the attendees loved the new Troon Catering menu as very little was left. We were proud to be the debut event for this new Troon Food & Beverage menu — it sure looks as tho our Board chose a winner in Troon!
Last but not least, we would like to thank Jeff in audio visual and his team for ensuring the power point presentations went off without a hitch, and to Liz Gutierrez, for always being a step ahead of us in what we needed for the room set up. Thank you so much.
