I asked about giving chairs to the 2 dog parks. I never got a answer. I think I talked to Kim.

Response:

We have asked John Petersen, our Landscaping Chair to field your question and his answer is as follows:

The FSAC did discuss the request for the HOA to furnish the chairs at our last meeting. Part of the discussion was that the dog owners who use the Dog Parks have also been furnishing their own chairs, and have never asked the HOA to take on that responsibility. We also discussed that if the HOA were to furnish the chairs and someone got injured, the HOA could be liable. It is on our Agenda for FSAC meeting this Thursday. We will make an official recommendation then.

Followup Question:

Yes we have been buying chairs for the dog parks but only a few participate in donating money. The Canadian's hardly ever give us money. I would ask you what happens if somebody gets hurt on the pool chairs or the restaurant chairs etc. That is not a acceptable answer to me. The chairs are only 15.00 and then we would not have fights about the chairs. When we buy them the other park steals them. Adults acting like children. Are you responsible for anybody getting hurt on all the other chairs in the community? They are so cheap I can’t imagine why HOA would turn us down. I have living here almost 11 years and this is my second house and I have never asked before. Please think hard about this. You could always make signs saying you are not responsible for anybody getting hurt on the chairs. We won’t be buying chairs if you buy them. Most of us are old with bad backs and need a chair to sit on.

Followup Response:

The FSAC did not approve the request for the HOA to furnish chairs at the Phase III Dog Park. The HOA has not furnished chairs at the Phase II Dog Park and we feel that if residents want chairs they should bring their own folding chairs. There was discussion that if the HOA furnished the inexpensive plastic chairs that the residents presently use, there could be a liability issue if the plastic became brittle after setting in the hot summer sun.
