First Responder Training at Indio High School

Good Morning Neighbors,

We wanted to let everyone know that the Indio Police Department, Cal Fire and staff from Desert Unified School District will be conducting first responder training at Indio High School (81750 Ave 46) beginning at 11:00 am For the safety of the public and training participants, it will be necessary to close Ave 46 to thru traffic at Clinton Street and Aladdin Street beginning at 11:00 am All roads will be open upon the completion of the training at approximately 5:00 pm

During the training evolution (11:00 am and 5:00 pm) people in the area may hear loud noises and sirens. There is NO actual emergency. These noises are there to add realism to the training scenarios. If you see or hear sirens outside of the Ave 46 corridor it is a real emergency, please safely yield to all emergency vehicles.

On Thursday, July 12, 2018, the second round of training is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am with the same road closures. We will send out a reminder to everyone on Thursday morning.

We will post a recap of the training on our social media platforms when both days of training are completed.

IPD would like to thank everyone in advance for their understanding and cooperation allowing us to conduct this important training.

Have a great day and be safe!

Sergeant Daniel Marshall
Indio Police Department
