Special Announcement: Employee of the Month, June 2019
It is an honor to announce Marlena Santiago as the Employee of the Month.
Marlena has been a group exercise instructor for several years. She teaches various types of classes each week and is constantly motivating and empowering class participants to keep working and achieve new goals. Her annual Halloween full-costume themed classes are one of a kind, and her “Planksgiving” contest (honoring who can hold a plank the longest) has become a Thanksgiving Day staple.
Marlena is an instrumental part of the Fitness Department and a true asset to Sun City Shadow Hills. Congratulations on her a well-deserved recognition as Employee of the Month!
Upcoming Events and Activities
- Beat the Heat: Our first week was a total success! BTH classes are new and fun, and there is a class for everyone regardless of their fitness level. We also have five outdoor early morning walks for the early birds, so be sure to check the BTH class schedule. Our t-shirts are in, so please stop by the Montecito Fitness desk to pick yours up.
- Beat the Heat Special Events: This year we have two special events that will grant one point towards BTH: A Reformer Pilates Symposium and a Wellness Lecture with Eisenhower. Sign-up and attendance are required to earn the point. Please RSVP at either fitness desk or email me at email@example.com.
- Aqua Classes: Due to the Santa Rosa Pool resurface project, the BTH Aqua Zumba class on Tuesday, June 18 at 10 a.m. will be moved to Montecito outdoor pool.
- Weight Watchers: Congratulations to the Weight Watchers in our community. They have lost 640 lbs. combined, since last October! We have a new series coming up on June 21 and we only have 17 spots left to fill in order to keep the meeting on our premises.
