Governing Documents Ad Hoc Committee Welcomes Israel and Kintner

The Governing Documents ad hoc committee is pleased to welcome two new members, James Kintner and Robert Israel.  The committee and our community are fortunate to have found such qualified members to draft our CC&R’s and related documents.

Jim comes to us from the Seattle area where he practiced law for 41 years.  He graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Economics and went on to earn his JD from Gonzaga University in Washington and his LLM from the University of Miami.  His Washington law practice was very diverse including various areas of the law such as estates and trusts, probate, real estate, corporate matters and litigation as well as representation of PGA golfers.

Additionally, Jim has represented both HOAs and individual owners contesting HOAs.  His experience in drafting CC&Rs and other organizing documents for HOA’s makes him a perfect fit for the Governing Documents committee.  Jim’s goal is that the revised governing documents are fair to all SCSH homeowners.  Jim and his wife, Marylynn, are now full time residents here and have a son and 2 grandchildren.  He is in the process of publishing a book on Amazon about golf poetry entitled “Swinging in Rhyme.”

Bob Israel is a snowbird from Bellevue, Washington who is spending more time in the desert as he has now officially retired from the active practice of law.  Bob earned his BA in History from the University of Washington and his JD from Harvard Law School. He has spent 47 years as a trial lawyer with the firm of Lane Powell in Seattle where he served 2 terms on its Executive Management Committee.  Although he is now retired, Bob remains "Of Counsel" to that firm. In addition to his activities as a trial lawyer he served as a mediator, arbitrator and Pro Temp Judge in the King County Superior Court.

Bob is currently on the Board of the Bellridge Homeowner's Association in Bellevue, Washington and has previously served 2 terms as President and 2 terms as Vice President. While on the Board he amended and coordinated the updating of the Association’s CC&R's and led the litigation committee in claims against various insurers for water intrusion resulting in a $700,000 settlement.

Bob is an avid golfer and member of the Shadow Hills Men's Club and is the father of two adult sons and proud grandfather of his three year old granddaughter, all of whom reside in Washington.
