Having Problems Accessing the “Residents Only Area” on this Website?

Internet Explorer-128x128If you are having trouble viewing the "Resident's Only" area of this website even though you have registered and logged in, most likely you are using Internet Explorer as your browser.

Not sure if you are using Internet Explorer as your browser? If you access the web by clicking on this symbol on your computer, then you are using the Internet Explorer browser:

Users viewing the website with the current version of Internet Explorer (version 11) with the default security settings and no Antivirus Addons have no problems.

If you are having problems with the Residents Only area, follow these steps:

Security Settings

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools in the menu bar or click on the "gear" icon in the top right.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click on Security tab and click the button "Reset all zones to default level" then click the "OK" button.
  4. Click on Privacy and set to Medium using slider and click the "OK" button.
  5. You may need to restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

Antivirus Addons

If you are using an Antivirus program such as Norton, Avast, McAfee, or Adblock, then the program may have installed an Internet Explorer Addon.

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools in the menu bar or click on the "gear" icon in the top right.
  2. Select "Manage Addons", then click "Toolbars and Extensions" and select any antivirus or ad-block extensions that you may have (such as Norton, Avast, McAfee, Adblock).
  3. Once the add-on that you wish to disable is selected, click the "Disable" button in the lower right hand corner of the window, then click "Close."
  4. You may need to restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

Old Version of Internet Explorer

Older browsers do not support new Web technologies. Check to verify that you are not using an old version of Internet Explorer.

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click on Help in the menu bar or the gear icon in the top right.
  2. Select "About Internet Explorer".
  3. The "About Internet Explorer" window will display what version of Internet Explorer you are using

NOTE: Current version of Internet Explorer is version 11.

If you are using Internet Explorer version 9 or older, UPDATE YOUR BROWSER.

  • Old browsers (especially Internet Explorer versions 6, 7, 8 and 9) are less stable, and much more vulnerable to viruses, spyware, malware, and other security issues. Those are obviously big problems to be concerned about—especially for people who shop online. So security alone is a very good reason to upgrade.
  • Old browsers can't display many new websites.  Web technology has changed dramatically in the last few years. New browsers support new Web technologies (like HTML5 and CSS3). These languages serve as a foundation for many websites today, and for virtually all new websites and Web apps. But unfortunately, many of these new websites will neither look nor function in the same way in old browsers.
