I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Chet P. Sheehan as the new Fitness Director and Chris Fizer as the new Lifestyles Director for Sun City Shadow Hills, effective Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
Both Chris and Chet are experienced professionals and highly regarded in their own industries who bring many years of leadership and customer service experience with them. As Fitness Director, Chet will be responsible for the daily operation of both fitness centers which include; the fitness center staff, fitness equipment and all the fitness classes. As Lifestyles Director, Chris will be responsible for; the daily operation of the Montecito clubhouse, Montecito staff, all resident activities, all the chartered club/resident group activities and the association activities.
Below is a brief biography on both Chet P. Sheehan and Chris Fizer:
Chet obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and has studied extensively in the science of movement. He has been active in sports for 30 years and found his love of personal training & managing by playing sports such as golf, tennis, and baseball. Chet taught for 3 years in the physical education field working closely with children with autism, and being of help in the school systems to apply sports to motivation and personal development. He is currently a level 2 TPI instructor with Titleist for golf specific training, as well as TRX & Power Plate certified. Chet has resided in the desert as a trainer with an established clientele, primarily working with active seniors specializing in bio-mechanics related to injuries & joint replacement issues. Chet thrives in an environment where he is challenged to develop and improve fitness programs.
Chris is a well-traveled hospitality professional with a 15 year career in cruise ships, all-inclusive club and luxury resort management which include Chief of Sports and Director of Activities and Events at such exotic destinations as: Club Med Turkoise, The Turks and Caicos Islands; The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas, USVI; Resorts World Bimini, The Bahamas and Sani Resort, Greece. Additionally, he was posted in Guam, Saipan, Dominican Republic and throughout the world onboard Celebrity Cruises. In addition to the beach and ocean, Chris enjoys playing tennis and is looking forward to finally learning how to play golf. After spending the majority of his career out of the United States, Chris is happy to call California his home.
Please join me in welcoming Chet and Chris to our Sun City Shadow Hills family and in wishing them the best for these important assignments. I would only ask that you let them get their feet wet in their new roles before you drown them with questions and/or requests.
