SCSH Charity Golf Tournament Recap

Congratulations to the winners, players, guests, and volunteers who participated in the SCSH Charity Golf Tournament on Sunday, December 4. It was a gorgeous sunny day in the desert, and over seventy players enjoyed the putting contest and golf competition on our championship south golf course.

An awards luncheon at the Montecito Clubhouse followed the exciting golf tournament. Many people participated in the silent auction and purchased wonderful prizes, with the proceeds going to Animal Samaritans, a local shelter for furry pals.

Animal Samaritans was founded in 1978 and is the desert’s largest, most-comprehensive animal welfare organization. They adopted out more than 10,000 homeless dogs and cats, spayed and neutered over 200,000 pets, educated school children on kindness to animals and responsible pet ownership, and made tens of thousands of pet therapy visits to people in need.

Shadow’s Executive Chef, John Dutra, prepared a scrumptious lunch of bar-b-que chicken, potato salad, cornbread, and decadent chocolate brownies. After lunch, Phil Vigil, GM of Shadow Hills Golf Club, awarded the prizes, and the winners posed for photos with SCSH Board President John MacDonnell. Enjoy these photos memorializing the tournament.

We look forward to organizing a team to work on next year’s charity golf tournament. Please let Philip Vigil, Shadow Hills Golf Club General Manager, know if you would like to volunteer and any suggestions you have for charities to receive donations from the event.
