Spotlight on Volunteers: Donna Campbell

Donna Campbell is a very busy lady. She moved to Sun City Shadow Hills from La Verne, California, in 2006. Soon after moving here, Donna joined the Classy Niners Golf Club and became Vice President , overseeing the Friday golf group for the Niners for three years. Donna was Event Coordinator for the Pairs 9-Hole Golf Club for two years and then became Vice President of the Lady Putters golf group for the next two years.

Donna also volunteers for the bingo group each month at the Montecito Clubhouse. Donna has been a member of the SCSH Pom Squad, later renamed the Pomettes. The Pomettes perform at nursing homes and assisted living facilities and bring cheer to Alzheimer’s patients though the Eisenhower network. Donna says it warms her heart to see people reaching out, smiling, and trying to dance with the Pomettes.

During Covid, Donna was part of a group that decorated their golf carts and visited elderly neighbors, driving by in a celebratory happy birthday parade. She has also volunteered for the Find Food Bank, making food packages for those in need.

Donna loves helping others and meeting new friends. She enjoys golf and going to lunch or Happy Hour with friends. She is part of a group that call themselves GNO (Girls’ Night Out) and they see a movie every Tuesday and go to Happy Hour afterwards. Donna likes going to the gym, shopping, and attending events at Sun City Shadow Hills, such as the Concert on the Greens, bus trips, and SCSH Community Singer concerts. She also enjoys spending time and traveling to new places with her significant other. Donna has two children, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Thank you, Donna, for all you do inside and outside of Sun City Shadow Hills!
