Spotlight on Volunteers: Judith Bennoch

Spirited and energetic, Judith’s life is a whirlwind of activity and contribution. Judith could be aptly described as a veritable force of nature!

Judith moved to Sun City Shadow Hills from Niagara Falls, Ontario in November 2012. Currently a Snowbird, Judith has been volunteering all her life. Among her many contributions, she has assisted the Performing Arts Club since 2013 in many capacities, including usher, dresser, house manager, producer, board secretary, and accomplished actor. In fact, Judith won the Award for “Outstanding Actress” in the 2022 Desert Theater League! Judith also served as PAC President for three years.

Judith is an active contributor to the Snowbirds Club, as a board member and Special Events coordinator, and is the co-organizer of the Snowbirds “Monthly Mixers.”  Judith is a life-long learner and dedicated teacher, who loves music, singing, and sports, including curling (where she first met her husband) and golf. Judith has also served as a committee member for the SCSH Singers and is on the Holiday Luncheon committee for the Classy Niners.

Judith shares her love of music in the broader community as a member of St. John’s Lutheran “Celebration Singers” and the faith-based choral group the “Festival Singers.”

When she is home in Niagara, she continues to donate her time to worthy causes, supporting church events, serving as Executive Director of RWTO (a retired women teachers’ group), and other activities. In October, she will be volunteering at the “Grand Slam of Curling” international event, with the top teams in the world participating. Judith loves music, dancing, golf, theater, and traveling. She comes from a large family of seven children and has been married to John for 36 years. Their family, located in Vista, California, includes a daughter and son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren, Lucia (12 yrs.) and Oliver(10 yrs.) Thank you Judith, for your contributions to our community!
