Road Closure Alert on Westbound Indio Boulevard Between Clinton and Madison Streets
INDIO, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2022) –
As part of the on-going seismic retrofit of the Indio Boulevard Bridge over the Coachella Valley Stormwater Channel, the City of Indio will close westbound Indio Boulevard between Clinton Street and Madison Street through March 2022. Eastbound Indio Boulevard will remain open.
The intersection of Clinton Street and Indio Boulevard will be on red flash. In addition, road signs will be placed indicating traffic speeds of 25 miles per hour should be observed. The road closure itself will begin Wednesday, Feb. 23.
- Signal at Clinton Street and Indio Boulevard will be set to red flash
- Plan for traffic delays on westbound Indio Boulevard beginning near Monroe Street
- Plan for heavier traffic on Clinton Street between Indio Boulevard and Fred Waring Drive and Fred Waring Drive between Clinton Street and Jefferson Street
Drivers should take alternate routes when possible:
- Start - Westbound Indio Boulevard to southbound Clinton Street
- Continue - Southbound Clinton Street to westbound Fred Waring Drive
- Continue - Westbound Fred Waring Drive to northbound Jefferson Street
- End – Indio Boulevard
