Why Golf Course Maintenance Begins Early

Our Golf courses are mowed, weather permitting, at the same time year round. However, when we go to daylight time savings the team is working in the dark and this causes distress to some of our residents.

The Golf course has a permit from the City of Indio to start our course maintenance routine as early as 5:00 a.m. for mowing. We do not use trimmers or leaf blowers until later in the day. We try to keep direct light from shining onto any ones’ home. However, for the safety of our operators they need the light to drive. Our golfing schedule is full; starting at a later time will not allow us to prepare the course in time for play.

As you can see there is a fine line between maintaining course standards and not waking up a neighbor.
