Classic Movie Club: John Adams (2008), Parts 1 and 2

The CLASSIC MOVIE CLUB presents:
Free bi-monthly screenings every other Friday of Academy Award-winning and nominated films to be shown in the latest remastered Blu-ray editions on a big theater-style screen using a state-of-the-art 4K high-definition video projector.
On Friday July 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Santa Rosa Clubhouse’s Monterey Room, the club will present a special film to celebrate the Fourth of July and the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States:
“JOHN ADAMS” (Parts 1 and 2 only) – the epic 2008 HBO television miniseries directed by Tom Hooper and starring Paul Giamatti (as John Adams), Laura Linney (as Abigail Adams), David Morse (as George Washington), Tom Wilkinson (as Benjamin Franklin), and Stephen Dillane (as Thomas Jefferson). Kirk Ellis wrote the screenplay based on the 2001 book “John Adams” by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough. John Adams received four Golden Globe awards and thirteen Emmy awards, more than any other miniseries in history.
To enhance our communal moviegoing experience, complimentary snacks will be provided, and if you want, you can bring your own food and beverages. Also, at each club screening, there will be a free giveaway of classic movie DVDs.
