Classic Movie Club: My Man Godfrey (1936)

The CLASSIC MOVIE CLUB presents:

Free bi-monthly screenings every other Friday of Academy Award-winning and nominated films to be shown in the latest remastered Blu-ray editions on a big theater-style screen using a state-of-the-art 4K high-definition video projector.

On Friday June 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Santa Rosa Clubhouse’s Monterey Room, the club will present:

“MY MAN GODFREY” – the hilarious 1936 screwball comedy directed by Gregory La Cava and starring William Powell and Carole Lombard. The film was nominated for six Oscars including best actor for leads Powell and Lombard, supporting actors Auer and Brady, director, and screenplay. My Man Godfrey was deemed “culturally significant” by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry.

To enhance our communal moviegoing experience, complimentary snacks will be provided, and if you want, you can bring your own food and beverages. Also, at each club screening, there will be a free giveaway of classic movie DVDs.
