The CLASSIC MOVIE CLUB presents:

Free bi-monthly screenings every other Friday of Academy Award-winning and nominated films to be shown in the latest remastered Blu-ray editions on a big theater-style screen using a state-of-the-art 4K high-definition video projector.

On Friday May 8, 2026 at 3:00PM in the Santa Rosa Clubhouse’s Monterey Room, the club will present A SPECIAL FILM TO CELEBRATE THE HUSBAND-AND-WIFE SCREENWRITING TEAM OF MICHAEL & FAY KANIN

“TEACHER’S PET” – the 1958 romantic comedy starring Clark Gable, Doris Day, Gig Young, and Mamie Van Doren - Directed by George Seaton – Written by Michael & Fay Kanin (whose original screenplay received an Academy Award nomination).

After the movie, Josh Kanin (the club’s co-leader and the Kanins’ son) will talk about his parents’ work in the Hollywood movie industry.

Club membership is not required to attend the screenings. To enhance our communal moviegoing experience, complimentary snacks will be provided, and if you want, you can bring your own food and beverages. Also, at each club screening, there will be a free giveaway of classic movie DVDs.
