Residents asked the board to look at our current fine schedule for Failure to Stop and Speeding violations. The Board asked the head of Security, Dave Archer, and the Safety Advisory Committee to look at the situation and bring back a recommendation to the board.
Mr. Archer sent out between 25 and 30 requests to HOAs in the Coachella Valley asking them what their citation schedule was and received 7 back. Here is the information that was returned:

$50 FTS - multiple can be increased by any amount violation committee deems. |
Since the implementation of the $200 fines the citations for FTS and Speeding have been going down, which was the goal of implementing them. In fact, the first 7 months the new fine schedule was implemented speeding citations dropped 59% and failure to stops by 40%.
The Safety Advisory Committee recommended the board leave the fine schedule at it’s current level of $200.
The board discussed and voted to leave the fine schedule at its current level.
