Has spring cleaning left you with a dilapidated loveseat, a seen-better-days mattress or an old computer monitor that you’re not sure how to get rid of? Spring cleaning brings out the best of our spaces but can also leave you with stuff to deal with.
The good news at Sun City Shadow Hills is that Burrtec, our trash contractor, makes getting rid of stuff as easy as a phone call. Burrtec provides a Bulky Item Pick-Up service. To use this service simply call Burrtec at least 48 hours prior to regular pick-up at (760) 340-2113.
Once you have called, you may place up to four bulky items at the curb by 6:00 am on Tuesday, our regular trash day. This service is free to residents.
Acceptable Bulky Items
- Large and small appliances
- Furniture
- Mattresses, box springs, and bed frames
- Bicycles and swing sets
- Barbecues
- Carpet rolled and bundled (bundles should not exceed 4 feet)
- Computer monitors, laptop computers
- Standard and LCD televisions up to 37 inches (for televisions over 37 inches, please advise Burrtec rep when making the call for special handling.)
Unacceptable Bulky Items
- Industrial waste
- Business waste
- Hazardous waste
- Engine and car parts
- Tires
- Building materials
- Bagged household trash
Burrtec also provides an Electronic Waste Program. This program works exactly like the Bulky Item Pick-Up. All that is required is a phone call (760) 340-2113 at least 48 hours prior to regular pick-up. E-Waste is defined as anything with a plug or circuit board.
