Santa Rosa Pool Closure Update

The Santa Rosa Pool will reopen on Monday, November 18.

Prior to reopening, the contractor will be completing the required final start-up procedures for the re-plaster. In order for the new plaster to cure properly, the pool heaters will remain off during this period. The pool and spa furniture will be returned to its proper location prior to reopening the pool.

Opening Date Change for Phase 3 Dog Park

After careful review of the annual over-seeding of the Phase 3 Dog Park, the reopening of the Phase 3 Dog Park will be delayed for one week to allow for healthier root establishment of the new rye-grass in effort to enhance the quality of the groundcover turf. The Dog Park will reopen on Friday, November 15.

As a mark of respect for the memory and longstanding public service of Representative Elijah E. Cummings, of Maryland, I hereby order, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions through October 18, 2019. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same period at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

Santa Rosa Parking Lot Closure

The Santa Rosa parking lot will close at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, in preparation for the Parking Lot Sale and will reopen at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19.

Parking will be limited to Sun City Blvd during this time.

Fly the United States Flag at Half-Staff on Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service

The United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to remember America's fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the tax-exempt, nonprofit Foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor our fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers.

The 38th National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 6, 2019, to honor 92 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2018 and 27 firefighters who died in the line of duty in previous years.

In accordance to Public Law 107-51, the American flag should be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from sunrise to sunset in observance of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

Fly the United States Flag at Half-Staff on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in Honor of Patriot Day

Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 marks the 18 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93 which crashed in suburban Pennsylvania. Patriot Day serves as a remembrance of the lives lost on that September morning.

By a joint resolution approved 12/18/2001, (Public Law 107-89) has designated September 11th of each year as "Patriot Day" which also directs the flags be lowered to half-staff for the entire day on September 11.

A section of the law is below:

''§ 144. Patriot Day''(a) DESIGNATION.-September 11 is Patriot Day.''(b) PROCLAMATION.-The President is requested to issue each year a proclamation calling on-

''(1) State and local governments and the people of the United States to observe Patriot Day with appropriate programs and activities;

''(2) all departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the United States and interested organizations and individuals to display the flag of the United States at halfstaff on Patriot Day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United States that occurred on September 11, 2001; and'

'(3) the people of the United States to observe a moment of silence on Patriot Day in honor of the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United States that occurred on September 11, 2001.''.

View Delivery Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to deliver The View magazine every month to the following areas:

Volunteers are notified at the end of the month when the magazines for their area are ready for pickup at the Santa Rosa Clubhouse. The box of magazines includes a map of the delivery route for the area.

Labor Day HOA Closure
